This project inspired me to think of letters in a different way. Instead of just letters, I got to think of them as shapes. It was difficult at first to figure out how to avoid creating a focal point. But once I changed my mindset of the letters, and focused on the shape and direction of the line, it was more successful.
This poster is set in Saturn, looking out on one of its lakes of liquid natural gas. Here we can see the reflection of Saturn's Earth-like moon Titan reflecting on the lake. This project took extensive research. It was important to me that my poster was realistic to the actual qualities of Saturn. During research I discovered that Saturn had lakes, then I had to figure out what the lakes were made of and what color would best represent that. Next, I discovered that Saturn had an Earth-like moon and it was the biggest moon to that planet, so I decided that it (Titan) would be the one that I illustrated in my design. I gathered inspiration for the moon off of images on NASA.com.
